Bronzer for the spring and summer

Well it’s March 22, 2008 and we’re officially into spring. Soon the weather will get warmer and it will be time to put away that dark, winter makeup. One of the best ways to cheerfully enter into the warm weather season is by introducing bronzer into your makeup arsenal.  If you don’t have a makeup arsenal, now is the perfect time to start one! Bronzer is a great way to begin making makeup a regular part of your beauty routine. The wonderful thing about bronzer is that when applied correctly, you can wear it with some mascara and lip gloss. Makeup is key!

Now we all know that clothes are a big part of being more fashionable and hot to trot, however if you have on a great outfit but your makeup is nonexistent, it can ruin the total package.  Now I know that makeup is often a sticking point for those of us but there are some easy ways to step things up in that department.  Some people may have the false belief that in order for makeup to look good, it must be expensive.

Oh no!  This is SO not true.  Now that you’ve gotten your copy of the Budget Fashionista (you have gotten it haven’t you?), you can check out this website and score some great makeup deals.  www.eyeslipsface.com also known as E.L.F. is a great makeup line and everything costs $1!  Isn’t that just awesome!  Now you can go online and really dabble in different makeup colors without having to pay a lot of money to do it.  Don’t worry about the quality because I will not steer you wrong.  I’ve tried several of the E.L.F. products and they’re wonderful.  I’m a huge lip gloss fan and the E.L.F. lipgloss has great shine and consistency.

Now go!  Wear makeup!  Now you have absolutely no excuses not to.

Budget Fashionista

The world of the truly fashionable has always seemed like an expensive world to me. I’ve always wanted to be a part of that world but my middle class upbringing didn’t allow for the purchase of expensive designer goods. As I got older and became an adult, I still wanted to be a part of that world but now that those types of purchases fell solely on me, I was even less inclined to get them. I was constantly looking for inexpensive ways to become more fashionable. It’s not an easy thing to do, especially when you’re fairly clueless about fashion overall.

One day I stumbled across this website www.budgetfashionista.com and was overjoyed. I immediately signed up for the newsletter and I suggest that you do too. I also discovered that the creator of the website also wrote a book by the same name. I immediately went out and bought the book. It was a great read and instructional in an approachable way. The tools suggested in the book were very valuable in pointing me in the direction of becoming more fashionable.

That book is definitely required reading for anyone who visits this blog. Make sure you pick it up ASAP!

Thanks for stopping by Clueless Fashionista. This blog was inspired by a friend of mine. We were having dinner one night and I started telling her about the different fashion and beauty websites and books that I’ve read recently. I was amazed that she didn’t know about some of the things I was mentioning because I’ve always considered her a fashionable person. She suggested that I start a blog sharing my knowledge and research with others…so here it is.

This blog is for those of us who enjoy the world of fashion and beauty but don’t feel comfortable enough labeling ourselves “fashionistas”. We may subscribe to fashion and beauty magazines and newsletters but realize that a lot of the stuff in them may go over our head or over our budgets. Here, at Clueless Fashionista, there are no stupid questions. I encourage you to write in with your comments, ideas, questions and thoughts. This is a place for us fashionistas-in-training.

Make sure you stop by often. This is a place for all things fashion and beauty. I don’t consider myself a fashion expert. I’m great at research and asking questions. I enjoy sharing the things I’ve discovered with others and I encourage you to do the same. Let’s make this an environment for learning and sharing.
